I obtained my PhD degree in Microbiology from Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2014. After graduation, I joined Wang Lab as Assistant Professor. I have been appointed as Associate Professor since 2017. My research focuses on epigenetic and molecular mechanism in fungi-insect interactions. Relative research findings have been published in The Innovation (2024), Science Advances (2020), PNAS (2017, 2023), Annual Review of Entomology (2025)

I obtained my PhD degree from the University of Queensland in 2021 after four years of studying the population genetics of fruit flies. In April 2024, I joined Wang Lab, and I am currently working on mosquitoes. My research focuses on mosquito evolution, heat tolerance, and gut microbes.

I obtained my PhD degree from CEMPS in 2024. I am interested in mosquito metabolism, heat tolerance, and pest control.

Lihua Wang （汪丽华）Postdoc

I obtained my PhD degree from CAS Center for Excellence in Molecular Plant Science in 2024 after six years of studying the gut microbiota in Anopheles mosquitoes. In January 2025, I started my new journey as a postdoc in Wang Lab. My research focuses on the interaction between gut microbiota and mosquitoes.

Yifei Li （李祎斐）Graduate student

I obtained my PhD degree in January 2025 from CAS Center for Excellence in Molecular Plant Sciences. I focus my efforts on the function of miRNAs in the transmission process of mosquito-borne viruses.

Bo Peng（彭博） Research Assistant

I obtained my Master’s degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2021 after three years of studying the discovery of natural products from marine microorganisms. In July 2024, I joined the Wang Lab and I am interested in mosquito gut microbiota. My research focuses on the interactions between mosquito gut microbiota, Plasmodium, and the host, as well as the discovery of natural antimalarial compounds.

Zicheng Liu （刘子成）PhD Student

I graduated from South China Agricultural University with a bachelor’s degree and joined the Wang Lab in September 2021. My research focuses on understanding how mosquitoes defend themselves against pathogen infections.

I obtained my bachelor’s degree from Nanjing Agricultural University in 2022. In September 2022, I joined Wang Lab, and I am interested in the interaction between entomopathogenic fungi and their hosts.

After obtaining my Master’s degree from Henan University, I joined Wang Lab in 2022, and I am currently working on the interactions between microorganisms and mosquito borne pathogens.

I obtained my master degree from the Hainan University in 2023 after three years of studying the genetic control of Bactrocera cucurbitae. In July 2023, I joined Wang Lab. My research is on toxic proteins produced by bacteria and the production of bacterial insecticide.

I obtained my Master’s degree from the Anhui Medical University in 2024 to study the relationship between ZIKV and mosquitoes. In September 2024, I joined Wang Lab, where I continued working on the interaction research between mosquitoes and fungi.

I obtained my Master’s degree from the University of Yunnan in 2024 after three years of studying the Bracovirus-Innexin-hemichannel-immunosuppression interaction mechanism. I joined Wang Lab in June 2024, where I mainly engage in the research of mosquito-borne viruses and host antiviral immune pathways.

I graduated from Yunnan Normal University with a bachelor’s degree, and then I was admitted to Shanghai Normal University for postgraduate study. I conducted joint training with Mr. Wang’s laboratory. At present, my research focuses on the interaction between fungi and hosts.

In November 2023, I joined Wang Lab, and currently studying mosquitoes, drosophila and Plasmodium. My research mainly focuses on the interaction mechanism between intestinal bacteria and host.
